Levels and roleplaying

This is just a little section indicating the level of fame that usually accompanies achieving certain level. Of course, its only a guideline, if your character has trained all his life and gained levels while being a hermit, he'll be nowhere near the level of fame a character of his power level would usualy have.

Lv 1-5 - These are considered "normal levels" the level range in which most of the anonymous population lives.
Eg - You... right now.

Lv 5-10 - These are people who are considered tremendously powerful, but still within normal people standarts. They are famous within their city, social circle, club, or the type of activity they perform and are usually recognized as "the best" within the local area.
Eg - Maximus in "Gladiator", Gimli and Legolas in LoTR, etc

Lv 10-20 - Great heroes, martirs, scientists or artist, everyone in the country know who you are and you have performed many heroic or important deeds. They are considered the most powerful in a large area and are usually the leaders of guilds, cities, secret societies and other such organizations. They are the kind songs are written about. Few dare to incur their wrath and their names inspire love or hate wherever they are mentioned. When they die, statues might be built of them and their names will be in history books a thousand years from now.
Eg - Hector in The Illiad, Aragorn in LoTR, Galileo, etc

Lv 20-30 - These are people who are generally regarded as larger-than-life, they have risen to power, glory, fame and finally, immortality. A thousand years from their deaths, everyone will still know their names and books will be written about them. They are people who single-handedly changed the world in some way, who inspire others to follow them and have spanned a new era through their achievements.
Eg - Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, DaVinci, etc

Lv 30-40 - Demigods, Prophets, people who have sent a ripple through history that has touched millions in one way or another. Beings who, by their mere will, can change the world and whose every action affects cities, nations and entire races.
Eg - Dark Lord Sauron in LoTR, Jesus, etc.

2005-09-15 [Lepellier]: Hey, Dur, you mind if I fix this a little so it looks...neater.

2005-09-15 [Duredhel]: sure... go ahead

2005-09-18 [Lepellier]: ok, there we go.

2005-09-24 [Blood Raven]: I take it shadowcat is supposed to be +1 to STR or INT every 3 lvls?

2005-10-04 [Veltzeh]: When gaining half of CON to HP (for example), do the decimals get rounded up or down?

2005-10-04 [Duredhel]: down

2005-11-16 [Silverbullet]: i have the feeling i've already asked this, but lets say your character is both tiger and warrior, does he/she/it get +1 to STR, DEX, CHA or CON every 2 lvls for being a tiger AND +1 to STR or CON every 3 lvls for being a warrior? Also, let's suppose the character started out at lv3, does the "every X levels" start from 3, or from 0?

2005-11-16 [Duredhel]: Race levels are universal and class bonuses are level based.

2005-11-17 [Veltzeh]: The "every X levels" starts always from 0 (or more like 1 since 0 doesn't really exist :P)

2005-12-03 [Veltzeh]: What do prestige classes get, and when?

2005-12-03 [Duredhel]: Don't cound them in yet. They won't be in the rules until someone finally attains one.

2005-12-03 [Veltzeh]: Okay... I just asked since it would be easier to include in the program now and not add it after I've forgotten how I wrote it XD

2005-12-03 [Duredhel]: Don't worry, Prestige classes are event obtained, so they would come into play at completely random levels. That would be kinda annoying to code into the program wouldn't it?

2005-12-03 [Veltzeh]: Actually no, since it just asks whether you want to do it or not >_> But, if you aren't going to develop like, a powerful NPC prestige class or anything, I'll just leave those out. But if you'd like to be able to do that, it'd be easy to add now, but possibly not later :P

2005-12-03 [Duredhel]: I see, you would have to indicate the program at what level to start using applying the prestige class though ^_^ (will it handle skills too? or only stats?) got to admit, it would be kinda cool to have a program that walks people through character creation and just produces a character sheet, bio (which would be filed out by the player), equipment (with stats), stats, skills and spells :P but that might be too much for right now ^^

2005-12-03 [Veltzeh]: Well I was planning on it doing all the stats, skills and spells, but as of now it's incomplete and only does the stats and gives the amount of skillpoints you can spend. Anyway, I'll make it so that it does the skills and all, eventually! And yeah, the program will indicate at which level advanced, hybrid and prestige classes will come into action. :)

2005-12-07 [Veltzeh]: So what's your decision about the prestige classes?

2005-12-07 [Duredhel]: aye, leave'em out, not sure I'll be doing them anytime soon

2005-12-07 [Veltzeh]: They'll be really difficult to add later though, but it's doable still, so ok X)

2008-08-13 [Gastogh]: What skills can the extra Skill Points gained by humans every five levels be used to acquire?

Example: a human has ten levels of Archer and just got to his fifth level of Ranger, so he's now Level 15. Human that he is, what can he use that extra SP from lvl 15 on? Only universal skills? Any skill from the Ranger's skill list? Any skill from the Archer's skill list?

2008-08-14 [Veltzeh]: Any skill that's on the list of the class it's taking. Or that's how it's been before...

2008-08-14 [Silverbullet]: Yeah, they're like wildcards, can be used for whatever, as long as one of your classes permits it.

2008-08-15 [Gastogh]: Veltzeh says "the class being leveled", Silverbullet says "any class leveled by that time". Third vote, anyone?
